Bailee's first concert

UVSC had it's big celebration changing it to UVU. Part of this was a concert featuring Josh Gracin, Colling Raye, and Joe Nichols. We decided it would be fun to go to.

By the time it was time for the concert, Bailee was pretty much done. It was super hot, and she was super grouchy.

We did get to listen to Josh Gracin and most of Colling Raye before we headed out.

Bailee wanted to see the "bear" (actually a wolverine) but she didn't want to give him five.

It was really a fun time. The concert was on the baseball field, so we had our blanket spread out in left field. The only bad part was the line for the bathrooms. Bailee had to go and it was going to be at least a 20 minute wait. After trying 2 different bathrooms I decided that Luke could take her. The men's line was almost non-existent. I guess that's how it goes though.

Bailee's Birthday!

We had Bailee's birthday on the 28th because we went to a concert on the 30th. Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Tami came up to celebrate with us. Bailee had fun opening her presents. She loved her doll house, and was just checking it out. She wanted to go downstairs and get her little people she plays with, but I told her to open another present. I finally got her to open the gift bag that was full of little people. Then of course that's all she wanted to play with. We let her play for a bit and then talked her into opening another. Bailee got a trike, helmet, and a doll house from Mom and Dad. Grandma and Grandpa S. gave her a cool book all about her visit to their house, and Great Great Grandma Millie gave her a Minnie Mouse doll. She also got some money from Grandma and Grandpa B. and Pappa and GiGi, she loves to put money in her bank, so she was excited for that. We had a ton of fun!

Bailee is Two!

Bailee's Cupcakes!

For the last few months when we asked Bailee what she wanted for her birthday, she told us Cupcakes. Then she wanted Mickey cupcakes. I looked all over for some kind of little toy or pick to stick in cupcakes. I finally decided to make my own. After paper piecing a couple of these guys, I decided I'd laminate them so I can use them again. They were too much work to just throw them away. Bailee absolutely loved her cupcakes, and loves to look at the pictures of them.

Tim McGraw Concert

Luke and I got to go to Tim McGraw last night. It was amazing. We had such a great time. It was out at the USANA Amphitheater and we had pretty good seats.

Half way to Hazard opened and then Jason Aldean sang for a little while.

I'm glad we were able to go, it was fun to get out and just be together. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for watching Bailee.

Last Day of Swimming Lessons!

Well like I posted earlier, today was Slide day at the pool. What I didn't know was that it was also the last day of swimming lessons. I'm glad I had my camera! This is Bailee's teacher, Kim. Bailee talks about teacher and swimming lessons all day long.

Bailee and I went down the slide together first. Then she wanted to go with teacher. She LOVED the slide, and would have gone up and down all day long if she'd been able too.

This was Bailee's favorite toy to play with at swim class. A cute little puffer fish that matches her swimmy. (thats our word for swimming suit)

Bailee loved the time we spent on the beach front. She would squirt teacher and mommy with the puffer fish, and today discovered that she could get us even more wet using a cup. What a funny girl!

I think she'll be really sad tomorrow when we don't walk to the pool. I'm going to have to find something else fun for us to do.

Cowgirl, fisherwoman

So the other morning I walked into the living room to find Bailee sitting in the chair with her feet in her hat, reeling in her latest catch.

Of course I grabbed the camera, but as soon as she saw me coming she started being extra silly.

Mom: "Does that fish taste good?"
Bailee: "MMMM. Yes."
Mom: "What does it taste like?"
Bailee: "Food."

Today is Slide day at swimming lessons. Bailee hasn't been down the slide, so we'll see how she likes it. She loves the regular slide, but really doesn't like getting her face wet....so combining the two could be interesting. I'm sure I'll have pictures to post later.

We still don't have a fence in our backyard, but they are getting closer. They poured the cement base at the beginning of the week so hopefully it'll be finished soon. I'll be glad to not see the parking lot, have our privacy back, and not have strange men in my yard. So much for playing in the backyard all summer.

Grammy and Grandpa Spencer and auntie Tami are coming to visit for a couple of days. We are having Bailee's birthday party on Saturday, and going to a concert on Monday. Then Bailee and I are going to Alamo for a few days. Should be exciting as always.....

Happy Birthday McKinley!

McKinley is 2! We went to her little birthday party, and it was fun as usual. Bailee was super excited to give McKinley her present. She picked her out a cute stroller for her baby doll. Bailee helped me wrap it and then wanted to carry it to Kinley. What fun! I think she'll be excited for her own birthday party this weekend.

I need to get some party hats. Bailee LOVES party hats, and she got a purple one to match her dress!

Strawberry Days Parade

So Saturday was the big Strawberry Days Parade. It's actually the first parade Bailee has been too! It was pretty fun. Nicole, Sahara, Canyon and River came with us, but for some reason I don't have a picture. Sorry guys!

Grammy Spencer made this cute strawberry dress, how appropriate for the day.

Near the end Bailee tripped and skinned her upper lip and bruised her nose pretty good. Poor girl! It's kind of nasty. I wonder what she'll think next week when we see the parade in Alamo. It's probably not even 1/4 as long. :)

Strawberry Days Free Swim

We decided kind of last minute to go to the free swim at the PG pool. Alyssa and McKinley came with us. Bailee loves the pool, and she loved playing with Kinley and Lyssy.

She was also super excited that Daddy got to come. Bailee kept 'swimming' between us and loving every minute. She was sad when we said it was time to go home.

(I guess the draw back of a 'water proof' camera is the water spots on the lens. :) )

Rec Center

This is mostly for Elder and Sister Bulkley! But here are some pictures of the rec center completed. It opens in a couple of weeks. (This is the view from Locust, in between the 2 Walker homes. )

Baby River

It's no secret that Bailee loves her cousins. She was SOOOO excited all week waiting for a visit from Sahara, Canyon, and especially baby River. I finally got pictures of her holding River. Bailee was also excited for Sahara to have a sleep over in her room. We made a bed on the floor and Bailee hasn't stopped talking about "Sarah's" bed.

Nicole was also nice enough to do some 2 year old pictures and a new family picture. I can't wait to share them! They turned out amazing as usual, even with all the 2 year old attitude. Thanks Nicole!

Swimming Lessons

Bailee and I are doing a parent tot swim class again this year. We started on Monday and it goes for 2 weeks. It has been so much fun. Bailee can't wait to get to the pool in the mornings, and it's torture for her to have to wait clear until 10:20 to leave. Here is her "camera smile".

Here's the not so patient wait to jump in. She loves to jump from the wall into the pool. After we practice entry for awhile, we sing songs and help the kids get used to having water on their faces. Bailee gets scared when I try and help her lay on her back, but hopefully by the end of the class she'll be a little more comfortable.

Bailee's favorite part of swim class is the last 10 minutes when she can crawl around on the beach front. She pretends to be a puppy dog and an alligator.

She also likes to swim under the rainbow. Then the whistle blows and she knows it's time to get out.

The pool is so close to our house, we've been walking to save gas. It's only about a 10-12 minute walk. It's good exercise too, something that I'm definitely in need of. Bailee loves to be out side and she loves to ride in her stroller. I just can't believe how big she is getting! Last year at swimming lessons she wasn't even walking yet and this year she's running all over the place. After we get home, for the rest of the day, she asks where her teacher is. She also tells me all the fun things they do. "Jump, sing songs, splash, play with my teacher." I think she'll be sad when it's over.

2 major things in my recent life, and both are complete.

We had a blast at girls camp! It was amazing, and probably one of the best camps I've been too. There was such a strong spirit there, and I know that my faith was increased and my testimony strengthened. So, here is a picture of our wonderful tent, Big Bertha. She is wonderful because we can all stay together.As you can see, the wind was very strong. Our first night this big ol tent blew right down on us. We were truly blessed and protected though. Just moments before she fell, we had a group prayer and shut off the propane light. We were all laying in the dark, praying to ourselves that she wouldn't blow over and we'd all be safe. It all happened so fast. One second we're trying to ignore the wind and fall asleep, the next we are scrambling to get out from under the tent. No one was hurt, which was truly a blessing. Those poles that hold the center up are not small. The wind was blowing so hard that we had to sit on the tent while we figured out what to do. After some discussion, we decided the only thing we really could do was sleep on the tent. It was too dark to pack up camp, and everything would have blown away. So we all grabbed our sleeping bags and laid back down. Here's what it looked like the next morning. It made me think of a refugee camp.The reservoir was really pretty. I loved the red rock that surrounded us. The girls had a blast jumping off some large rocks. Though from what I hear, the cliffs they were jumping off our last day put this rock to shame. Either way, you'll never find me jumping. (or even in that deep) A boat caught on fire. We heard a big explosion and then a minute later saw the smoke and the flames. This was my view on our SOLO hike. That was one thing that I was most looking forward too, and I wasn't disappointed. We spent an hour alone in Gods beautiful creation, taking time to pray, read, sing and ponder. I spent this time reflecting on my life and some changes I need to make. It was a very cool experience, one that I hope to repeat often. And here we all are right before we packed up and headed out. (with the lovely 'house motor' in the background) I am so thankful for all the help that I had from the leaders, the girls, and especially God. I put a lot into this, and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Everything from the theme to the golden hours and everything in between worked out exactly how God wanted it too. I know that we were each touched, our lives were changed, and we'll never be the same. The first night I was having doubts about some of the stuff because of the wind etc. But once I let go of my plans and let God take control, everything worked out beautifully. I am truly grateful.

I know that God has restored his True church to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that we are led by a true prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, and that God's hand guides and directs all that happens. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that He died that we may live again. That by him and through him all mankind will be saved. He suffered for our sins, our heartaches, and our pain. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Families are Eternal, and am so grateful that I'll get to be with mine forever. I'm so grateful for this knowledge and to be a part of this great work.
