This week BYU plays Northern Iowa, even though many of us may not of heard of this football team, they are one of the better teams in their division. They have a very good running back, who ran for over 1500 yards last year. They will surprise a lot of people with their talent. They have a new quarterback in the system that will give BYU an advantage. Also BYU will have a major advantage on both the offensive and defensive lines. So will all that taken in,

This is Bailee's new favorite thing...Giggles.

Impromptu Camping

Anyone who knows Luke also knows he's not a big fan of camping. Until now, Bailee had never even seen a tent in real life. I decided it would be fun to set up the tent and sleep outside. Bailee thought it was a great idea too. We got this tent really cheap at a yard sale and had never even put it up!

We took our pillows, drinks, popcorn and story books out to the tent. (Bailee is pretending to sleep, thats her new talent)

We read a couple of story's and then turned out the lights. It was fun to just hang out and play together.

Luke when in after about an hour and then Bailee and I fell asleep for real.

After what seemed like hours my arm was asleep and I was not comfortable, so I scooped Bailee up and headed back to civilization. It had only been 3o minutes from the time Luke went in. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and now I'm ready to go camping for real. This time we'll bring the air mattress.

Friends Re-united

McKinley got to play with Auntie Kay all summer. Bailee has missed her a ton, and is so excited she'll get to play with Kin at least once a week. They had a blast turning on the sprinkler, playing in the water, going for a long walk with their strollers, and jumping on the trampoline. Bailee was not so happy when it was time to go home.

Bailee kept trying to get Kinley wet with the hose. She'd say "Let me water you Kinley, let me water you." Kinley was not having any of that.

Then they decided to water the tomatoes.

What a difference a year makes

The other day I really wanted to make cookies, so when I heard Bailee waking up I thought it was the perfect thing to do together. She was so excited about it! I was looking through some pictures and realized that we made the same cookies almost exactly a year ago. So I had to find the disk with last years pictures and do a post. I can't believe how much Bailee has grown and changed in the last year. One thing that hasn't changed...she still picks out the chocolate chips to eat and leaves the rest of the dough.

And because I LOVE these cookies so much, they really are the best ever, I'll share the recipe with you. Just a warning, this is a HUGE batch. When I don't half it, I usually cook 2 dozen and then scoop the rest into balls and freeze them. Then we have cookies for a long time...well unless we eat all of the dough first. Enjoy.

Surprise!

Grandma and Grandpa Spencer gave us a call Saturday evening and asked Bailee to open the door. We were quite surprised to find they had driven up to see us. They caught Bailee off guard though, so she wasn't quite as happy as normal. We had lots of fun playing games and reading stories. Bailee loved playing Yahtzee. She would dump out the die and say "I won!" It was super cute.

She just can't get enough of Grandpa, I think that goes both ways.

When Grandpa realized that Bailee's boots were getting too small he started hunting for a new pair. After a couple of months he found one, not quite what he was looking for, but Bailee loves them.

While Mom and Dad were here they helped us with some big projects. We so appreciate all of your help. Next time you come up it'll be all play and no work!

How Time Flies

I can't believe it's been 4 years! It's been a lot of fun, and we've had a lot of changes. Being married is better than I even imagined, and a lot different too. Adding Bailee has been one of the best things. It's so fun to work together teaching her and helping her, it brings us closer together. This is a layout I put together for my club last week. (Of course this is the un-finished version. Now it has journaling and a few more accents, but I haven't taken a picture yet.) I love seeing the changes through the past 4 years, and can't wait for the rest of forever. I love you Luke!

My first Climbing Experience

I chickened out and opted not to climb. But I did learn how to belay. It was a lot more fun that I was expecting. By the end of the evening I was actually wishing I had climbed. Next time I will for sure.

When I wasn't belaying(??) I spent a lot of time looking like this. It was so fun to watch the youth and some of the leaders climb. I could tell it was very challenging and required a lot of upper body strength (of which I have none) but it was also very rewarding. Some of the girls hadn't wanted to try, and to see the look of accomplishment on their faces was awesome.
