What a fun trip we had.

So Thursday I went to the SLC airport and picked up Trudi. It was so fun to have her home for a few days! Then we stopped and picked Luke and Bailee up and headed out of town. We stayed in St. George with Matt and Jolynn's family. It was so fun to see them! Bailee had fun playing with Brea and her friends. It was so nice, so we played outside for awhile. Friday morning we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. When we got there Grandma and Grandpa were both gone!! So we got to spend some time with Aunties Trina, Trudi, Tressa and Tami. We also got to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Washburn. Bailee loved seeing the pigs, chickens and horses, and was really excited to ride the horse with Grandpa. She also got to ride the 4 wheelers. Saturday we went to Pioche (see previous post). For dinner my dad made Dutch Oven Chicken and Potatoes, my favorite. It was so good! My mom and I hid out in the craft room and stamped and played with the cricut for awhile. She also sewed Bailee some cute summer clothes and 2 skirts for me. (I'm a little spoiled.) Sunday we got to go to church and I was so happy we did. (We usually leave before church because it's such a long 6 hour drive home) I got to see a lot of family and friends that I haven't seen in awhile. Being home this weekend made me really miss being there. Hopefully we'll make it back a couple of times this summer. We really had a good time, and I'm so glad we made the trip.
OH. and on the way down we discovered some cool things about our car. There is a cooler in the glove box!! How sweet is that? And the back cargo light pops out to be used as a flashlight. I know they are silly little things, but it was fun to find them. :)

A Picnic

Another Easter tradition in my family is a picnic. On our way back from Pioche we stopped at Cathedral Gorge. We hiked down to the bottom and then back up, it was enough exercise for at least a month.





Bailee isn't squinting in the bright sunlight. No, this is her WINK. She kept winking at people all weekend, it's so cute! Bailee wanted to "Sit on the mountain" so of course we let her. She didn't want to get down.

The Great Egg Hunt Adventure

When I was a kid we went to Pioche for the Egg Hunt every year. We'd wake up early and stand out on the porch waiting to ride the fire truck to the school. (It wasn't this truck though, it was a really really old one that they don't allow the kids to ride anymore.) When Luke and I decided to go to Hiko for Easter, I decided we would also go to Pioche for the Egg Hunt. It was so fun to ride the fire truck with Bailee.

I'm pretty sure that this is still the same Bunny that has always been there. Bailee didn't cry, but she wasn't sure she liked the bunny. Well, at least until he gave her some candy.Before the hunt started...
My dad told Luke that the plastic eggs had money in them. I conveniently left that part out. Here is Daddy coaching Bailee on what eggs she should pick up. And see Grandma and Grandpa taking pictures?? I'll have to get those ones too. More looking on. Will they ever let me pick up those eggs??Ready....Set...Go!Daddy helped Bailee pick up a lot of eggs. I had to remind him to pick up the real ones too.
Bailee had a lot of fun. After all, picking up is one of her favorite things to do!Grandma bought her this fun Mickey Mouse basket. Bailee loved carrying it around. After the hunt it was too heavy though. When she wasn't looking I took out a bunch of the eggs.And with Daddy's help, Bailee found $5 to add to her piggy bank.

We also got to see my friend Beka and her cute family! I didn't take any pictures, what was I thinking?? They have 3 beautiful little girls. That reminds me, there is a picture from high school of Beka, Luci and I that I told Luci I would email her. It's for sure blog worthy, so I will have to go find it and post it later.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Bailee picked this egg out of the chicken coop herself.
She had so much fun dipping the eggs, after they were all colored she kept signing and saying more. Bailee wasn't ready for the fun to be over.

Bailee takes a nap on the horse....

Bailee was so excited to visit Grandma and Grandpa and ride the horse. As soon as we got there she put on her boots and waited for Grandpa to saddle up the horse.
I lifted her up to Grandpa and away they rode. She grabbed hold of the reins right away and never let go. As they were coming back up the road I could see her head bobbing around and when they came up to the house I snapped a few pictures. Bailee was one tired cowgirl, but she never let go of the reins.

What we've been up to!

Bailee found my black distressing ink, twice. Its a chalk ink and NOT a waterbase ink so it doesn't come off very easily.I just think this picture is cute. Her little sunglasses on her head. She was being a funny girl.We sold the Escape. I miss it, but the new car is practical and I really don't hate it. :) Supervised Stamping. I thought since this was a kids stamp set, it would also be kid friendly ink. Not so much. But we had fun!Sidewalk Chalk!! I don't really like to touch it, but Bailee LOVES it! What cheap fun! (I went to the dollar store and came out with all kinds of cheap entertainment...chalk, bubbles, stamps, play dough etc.)
And....Bailee and I bought some Pansies and planted them before we left for Grandma and Grandpas. So here's the funny story.

Every time I would dig a hole for the Pansies, there would be at least 3-5 worms. I kept showing them to Bailee and trying to get her to hold them. She absolutely didn't want to touch them, and for some unknown reason was concerned that I was going to EAT them?!?!? I have no clue where she got the idea I would eat worms??? Each time I would ask if Bailee would like to hold a wormy she would cry out "No eat the wormy, mommy. No eat it." Funny girl.

Dodge Caliber

We decided to trade in our Escape for something more practical for us. Although we loved the Escape, we didn't really need the room, and didn't really love the gas mileage. We traded it in for a 2007 Dodge Caliber, it is a little smaller but we will adjust. It is always stressful deciding what to do with cars. We hope we made the right choice. We both feel good about it.

Computer issues...

...gotta love those. I think our computer is on it's last leg. Hopefully I've added some life to it by deleting all of our pictures. It took me like 6 hours to put them all on disks, I filled 25 disks. That's a lot of pictures. :) Our screen saver slide show is much shorter now, but hopefully the extra space will help. Besides that, things are going well.

Yesterday was beautiful! Bailee, McKinley and I spent a lot of our time outside. We got the flower beds ready to plant and I started working on the garden. I'm hopefully going to get it all cleaned up this week and use more of it this year. It needs some good fertilizer plowed in before we plant anything. I'm looking forward to the fresh veggies!

Faith

So, I'm in the midst of planning our ward Young Women's camp. I have really felt like we should do something under the divine nature category, and we came up with a great theme. It's going to be YOU ARE SPECIAL, based on the book by Max Lucado This is one of my favorite books, and I think it'll be a really awesome theme. I was also lead to a scripture in Doctrine and Covenants that goes perfectly with this. "Fear not, little children, for you are mine..." I've naturally be thinking a lot about the story, relating it to gospel principles, and thinking about how to impress the message upon the minds of our Young Women. I want them to know with out a shadow of a doubt that they are God's children, that He knows them, that He loves them, and that He's there for them no matter what. That God is no respecter of persons, meaning that it's not important to Him what others think about us, so it shouldn't be important to us either. If we live our lives with His purpose and strive to be our very best, that's what really matters. I always loved how at the end of conference and other talks President Gordon B. Hinckley would remind us to do our best, but make sure it's your very best. That always made me smile, and think of how I could follow the prophets counsel.
So that brings me to my title, Faith. I was walking through the kitchen this morning and saw my Book of Mormon sitting on the counter. I haven't been reading as often as I should, or as often as I need to. I picked it up and sat in the front room next to the window in a chair, and read a passage that talks about Faith. I was enjoying the sunshine and thinking about Faith. The words to the primary song came to me..."Faith is knowing the sun will shine, lighting each new day." yes, I believe that, "Faith is knowing the Lord will hear my prayers each time I pray." yes, I believe that. "Faith is like a little seed, if planted it will grow. Faith is the swelling within my heart, when I do right I know." I think that's a wonderful analogy of Faith. I need to have more Faith in my life, for me. I can tell my Young Women that without a doubt I know that Heavenly Father loves each one of them, that He hears and answers their prayers. But do I really know that for me? Logically, yes I do. But I need to feel it in my heart. The thing is, I haven't really tried lately. I know that all I have to do is ask, and He'll be there for me. I know that. I just need to do it.

Our newest Friends

Ok. She's spoiled, I know that, and I'll probably regret it later. We ran some errands the other day and one of my stops was at the mall. I thought it would be fun to walk around and enjoy some time out of the house. It was! On our way out of the mall, we walked into the Disney Store (again. and I'm so glad we have one in Orem!) Bailee was walking, not in the stroller, and she went nuts! She was seriously in heaven. She kept pointing at her friends and turning to smile at me. I wish I would have had my camera then. Bailee loves watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse, and gets so excited when she sees Mickey. She saw this Mickey and walked over and picked him up. I thought it wouldn't hurt to carry him around while we looked at the other things. We saw Manny, Darby, Pooh, Piglet, and of course all of our clubhouse friends. It's the cutest when she says Donald Duck. She can't say it quietly. Next time you see her, ask her to say Donald Duck and ribbit. It's a riot. Anyways, I was watching her carry around Mickey and I knew she wasn't going to leave him there without a fight. She was talking to him, rocking him, and giving him loves. It was so cute. So, I called Luke to see what he'd say about bringing Mickey home. I handed Bailee the phone so she could tell Daddy about Mickey and she put the phone to Mickey's ear! Ahhh! How can you say no to that? We went to pay for Mickey and of course they were having a sale. So we came home with Mickey and Goof Goof. Bailee carries them around, they eat breakfast with her and watch Clubhouse together. Daddy took a picture of her with them tonight.
