Three weddings, three road trips, and the truth about peppers

We've had a busy month and a half! At the beginning of March, my baby sister, Tami, was married. We took a quick weekend trip to Ely and McGill to join them for their special day. All of my sisters were there and it was fun to be together. Maddox asked me to dance at the reception, it was so sweet. However, when the dance was over he said "where's my dollar?". Apparently he was paid off to dance with his momma. Bailee danced with Grampy. That was another melt my heart moment.

At the end of March, my cousin Jackie got married. We took another road trip, this time to St. George.  It was a beautiful ceremony. My kids adore Jackie and Richard. We are so happy for them!

It was Easter weekend, and the start of Spring Break, so we decided to stay south for a few days. We spent Easter in Hiko with Grammy and Grampy. The kids had a blast. 

Luke and I went to Las Vegas for a couple of days. It was fun to get away and just hang out for a couple of days. Luke hadn't been to The Strip, so we spent time walking around and checking out the hotels. Besides just being together, my favorite thing we did was go to Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. They have some really pretty tigers, lions, panthers, and other cats. It was awesome to just sit next to the dolphin pool and watch them play. I could have stayed there all day. We picked up the kids and headed home to finish spring break in Utah. 

We went back to Hiko for Tressa and Jerry's wedding on April 20. We missed Trudi, but it was good to be with everyone else. 

And now, the truth about peppers. Habanero peppers to be exact. They are hot. Very, very hot. I knew that, of course. I just didn't realize that's the kind of peppers mom had in her freezer. I thought they were mini bell peppers. I didn't eat them. No, it is a much better story than that. 

I was gluing together some things for Tressa's cake topper. I got hot glue on my fingers. It was a really, really hot glue gun. Not a low temp one like mine. So it blistered and took my skin off. It was seriously so painful. I tried lavender oil. Cold water. Ice. It worked briefly, but nothing was lasting very long. I went to get more ice and I saw these cute little thumb sized peppers. Do you see where this is going? I popped one of those cute peppers on my thumb thinking it would be easier than holding ice while trying to finish wedding things. I walked out to show my mom my brilliant idea. It didn't take long to figure out that it wasn't very brilliant. My skin was burning. I somehow got it on my lips. Man were they hot. I had to take a shower before the wedding, and that made it worse. I tasted those peppers for hours. Not my finest moment. At least I provided some comic relief.
