Dear Lee Dewyze,
I really wanted you to win American Idol, I even wanted to buy your CD. And then you sang the one song I loathe, above everything else (even ear infections). What happened to an original song?
Sorry,
Me
(But I do love this one...)
Dear Glitz stardust glitter,

I bought you a month ago and put you in a safe place. Now that I've got 5 minutes of quiet time to my self, and am planning to create a beautiful layout using my new package of Splendor paper, I can't find you! Where is your safe hiding place? Please come back soon, my title really needs a little glitter.

Love,
Me

Really?

Snow? Are you KIDDING me? It is MAY 24th! My poor garden! I spent hours getting it ready and planting. I was sore for DAYS after. Now I get to do it all again? Ugh. Although, snow outside makes it easier for me to stay inside, which makes isolation a little easier. Yeah, not so much.

Happy Thought: Our trip to Cali is coming fast! We told Bailee about Disneyland. I didn't think she was very excited, so I was kind of disappointed. But then she came out of her room lugging a suit case and informed us she was all packed. 1 prom dress, 3 pair of PJ's and a pair of panties. What more does a princess need? I'm glad she's excited.

Good bye freedom, Hello isolation!

Maddox has a double ear infection, again. This is the SEVENTH since March. SEVEN double ear infections! I took him to the dr. on Tuesday, as I posted, and was not surprised at all for this diagnosis. We got an antibiotic, with a refill to take with us on our trip, and figured a day or so and he'd be back to normal. (whatever that is!) Well, Thursday he wasn't feeling well and neither was I. So we laid around all day. He didn't sleep well that night, and ran a fever all day Friday. It was managed ok with motrin and tylenol, but wasn't getting any better. So, at 3 this morning I took him into the ER. They gave him another dose each of tylenol and motrin, and once the fever broke we were sent home with a prescription for a stronger antibiotic. He has slept most of the day today, so that's a good sign. He must be feeling enough better that he can catch up. Too bad Luke and I can't.

On Wednesday we had an appointment with an ENT and are going to get tubes put in his ears. BUT, Maddox can not have a cough or be sick when they put him under anesthesia. So somehow we've got to keep him well long enough to get the tubes in. I'm sure they will help a ton!

We hardly take him anywhere to begin with, but we decided that he's not leaving the house and no one is coming over for the next 2 weeks. We're really praying that this will help. It better, I'm at the end of my rope and I don't know what else to do! Enjoy the pics below!

Our Star

Bailee had her last dance recital on Wednesday. She did so great! It was fun to watch her dance along with her teacher and class.

First they stretch and warm up. Her balance is definitely improved from the beginning of the year.

The first dance was their pretty Ballet, "Somewhere Out There." It was so cute! They've been working on this one all year.

The second dance was their Jazz dance. They were all wearing sunglasses on their heads, but Bailee's kept slipping down. In between fixing the glasses, the dance was super cute. Bai has got the shaking part down really well.

I could not find the video camera, so I'm bummed that we didn't capture the live action. Hopefully we can get a copy from someone.

The End.

Bailee and Kin with their teacher.

Besties with their treats.

Sonny with a Chance of Cloudy Meatballs

Maddox loves Spaghetti. He plays in it, and even eats some of it. I've been making it more often the last month or so because I know he will eat it.
Since watching "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" a few months ago, Bailee has called this favorite meal "Sonny with a Chance of Cloudy Meatballs." So funny.

2 weeks

since Maddox has been to a Dr. Guess how we are celebrating? An un planned trip to the Dr. He is sick AGAIN! Short of keeping him in a bubble, I don't know what else to do! This is the cycle; Ear infection-causes drainage, causes cough, causes throwing up, causes no sleep; Dr. give Antibiotic; day 2 of Antibiotic Maddox feels great; take Antibiotic for 10 days; 2 days after Antibiotic is done goopey eye returns; 3 days after A, runny nose returns, causes cough, causes throwing up, causes no sleep; Off to see Dr. again.

Could we have a years supply of antibiotics please???

On the up side, Maddox is 10 months old! Some days, I really can't believe it! There was a time that I wasn't sure he'd make it this far. I am so glad he's still with us! We pray that he'll be with us for a long time.

At 10 months Maddox is 20 lbs., he's been wavering on and off the 20 lb. mark for a month because of the sickies.

He is sitting up really good, and doesn't topple over as much.

He can roll over, but doesn't unless he really really wants something.

He is working on getting himself in and out of sitting.

He is starting to eat solids a little better, but still hates anything that is too thick.

He is the happiest kid ever, and smiles and giggles a lot.

He loves Bailee, and can't wait to chase her around. He loves her reaction, and is already starting to tease her.

As you can see, Maddox is a little behind in the gross motor skills area. Totally expected, he's had his chest opened 3 times already! We are working with a physical therapist though, and since we've started that he's making great progress. Maddox truly is a miracle, and we are so grateful to have him in our home.

Mothers Day

Yesterday was the best. Really, it was. Mothers day really started last Sunday though. The first thing Bailee said to me after primary last Sunday was "Mom, I didn't make ANYTHING for you for Mother's day today. Nothing." I got a good chuckle out of that. Than on Thursday she went for her weekly play date and came home with her hands behind her back saying "Mom, I didn't make ANYTHING for you at K's house today. D and K made magnets and bookmarks for their mommies, but I just played." Followed by giggling and her bedroom door closing so she could hide what she didn't make. Cute. Since then, at least a few times a day, she's been sure to remind me that she didn't make me anything for Mother's day, always followed by a "Sorry, maybe next time." When I suggested that she still had time, she waved me off and said "No, no. Not this year." Saturday Morning Bailee and Daddy had to go to the store, but of course she was sure to inform me that they weren't going to buy me or grandma anything.

Imagine my surprise when she 'woke' me up yesterday morning with a giggle and a package. Can you believe that Bailee tricked me? She really did make me a magnet and bookmarks. Next they brought me (and Grandma B) breakfast in bed; a blueberry muffin and orange Julius. Yummy. They also got me a beautiful hanging plant for the porch. After church Bailee gave me a cute flower that she made in primary (that's what she didn't make last week.) and we went to M and J's home for dinner. Fajitas. Yummy again. And of course the best part, guacamole. It was a really fun day, and I loved how excited Bailee was about it. First thing this morning though, she reminded me that it's not mother's day anymore. Sigh. I guess the other 364 days of the year roles are reversed and I get to spoil her.

Some Things I Love.....

I was thinking about some things that I really Love....besides the typical and usual my family, my faith, good friends etc. I post about those quite often, but these are some of the little things that make me smile.

Writing. I used to write a lot. Not so much anymore. I loved to write poetry, essays, talks, in my journal. I had dreams of writing a novel and a children's book. That's something that I would like to do more of again.
Dark chocolate. Yum. I love that you can eat just a little piece and fill satisfied. Of course, I never eat just one little piece. But I could, if I wanted.

I've been to Disneyland twice. When I was 6, and when I was 21. I have wonderful memories of both times, and I absolutely can not WAIT to see Bailee's face when we take her. We're going in just over 4 weeks. We still haven't told her yet, she's going to LOVE it!

Need I say more? I really do love this show! Love to hate Sue. Love the music. Love Kurt. Love to sing along with Defying Gravity. Not that you'll ever hear that.

Is there a more beautiful sight than Tulips in the spring? I think not. Love tulips. We have beautiful red ones in our flower beds and I LOVE them. Too bad they don't last all year long. But I enjoy them while they last.
Strawberries. Yum. I hope to someday grow yummy strawberries of my own. If only I could keep the deer away. Strawberries and cool whip, tasty.

My favorite food group. Seriously. I can't eat enough avocados. I love them on BLT's, on salad, tacos, nachos, on a spoon with a little salt. Love guacamole, and I make really really yummy guacamole. Tomorrow we are having Fajitas (another of my loves) and I can't wait to eat guacamole on those.

Cherries. Beautiful. Red. Cherries. Our tree grows beautiful cherries. Unfortunately, our cherries grow not so beautiful larvae. I'm hoping to change that this year. Not only do I love the fruit, I love the pattern. I love fabric with cherries on it. Little girls clothes with cherries on it. Paper. Speaking of which, I also really love this new treat from Close To My Heart.

The new Cherry-O! Line. LOVE. IT. Is there anything sweeter? I think not. I plan on accenting my kitchen with Cherries. Can't wait.

Love to scrapbook. No, I enjoy scrapbooking. I LOVE paper and buttons and ink and stamps. I LOVE getting my fingers inky and finding the perfect accent for a page or card. I LOVE feeling creative and documenting our life at the same time. And I LOVE watching my family look through the scrapbooks and smile, laugh, and remember.

I'll end with Cupcakes. I adore cupcakes. I always have, and now they are the craze. Chocolate cupcakes with pink cream cheese frosting is my favorite. And of course sprinkles. Gotta have sprinkles.

I'm not your life!

Sunday afternoon we were all sitting on the couch enjoying story time. Luke was smothering Bailee in kisses and she was giggling. Until finally she said "Stop Daddy! I'm not your life!" We looked at each other and he said "You're not?"  Bailee responded, "No! Mommy's your life!" We decided she must have meant wife. But Luke assured me that I'm his Life too.

Bailee is all in to being a cheerleader these days. She especially loves to play with Ben and Ryan because they always want to play football (or some kind of sport), so she can be the cheerleader. One day the boys were wrestling and she was off to the side jumping up and down yelling "Go Ben Go! Win Ben Win!" So funny.

One more funny. Last week Bailee was playing outside with Ben and Ryan while Jen was watching her. Apparently Ben was having a rough day and not very happy. After a bit Bailee, shaking her head, said to herself "What a man, man, man."
