Bailee's Bike

Bailee had fun at Grandma and Grandpa's, but she was glad to be home. She took her new bike out for a ride, and didn't even mind wearing the helmet. When I asked her where she wanted to go, she told me "Anne's house". So we rode down the street to Anne's house.

When we arrived at Anne's, Bailee looked at me and said "I made it Mom, I made it!" She was so cute. But Anne wasn't home. We'll have to visit again sometime soon, we want to meet Anne's new baby sister!

And look what was waiting for us when we returned from Nevada!!! A FENCE! I am so super excited about it. Now we'll just wait for them to put the privacy slats in.

Cowgirl, fisherwoman

So the other morning I walked into the living room to find Bailee sitting in the chair with her feet in her hat, reeling in her latest catch.
Of course I grabbed the camera, but as soon as she saw me coming she started being extra silly.

Mom: "Does that fish taste good?"
Bailee: "MMMM. Yes."
Mom: "What does it taste like?"
Bailee: "Food."

(I forgot to take the red-eye out, but I don't want to re-post...sorry!)

Today is Slide day at swimming lessons. Bailee hasn't been down the slide, so we'll see how she likes it. She loves the regular slide, but really doesn't like getting her face wet....so combining the two could be interesting. I'm sure I'll have pictures to post later.

We still don't have a fence in our backyard, but they are getting closer. They poured the cement base at the beginning of the week so hopefully it'll be finished soon. I'll be glad to not see the parking lot, have our privacy back, and not have strange men in my yard. So much for playing in the backyard all summer.

Grammy and Grandpa Spencer and auntie Tami are coming to visit for a couple of days. We are having Bailee's birthday party on Saturday, and going to a concert on Monday. Then Bailee and I are going to Alamo for a few days. Should be exciting as always.....

Rec Center

This is mostly for Elder and Sister Bulkley! But here are some pictures of the rec center completed. It opens in a couple of weeks. (This is the view from Locust, in between the 2 Walker homes. )

Our garden and the back yard view

I spent some good time out in the garden this evening. I re-planted squash and melons, as well as put in some tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers (hopefully this year they will actually be cucumbers and not zucchini). I had already planted once, about 2 weeks ago, and the deer rather enjoyed those little plants. They also ate most of the strawberry plants, again. I'm thinking this little garden plot is not destined to grow strawberries or cucumbers. I did buy some stakes and twine and roped the area off, as well as made a trellis type thing for the peas to grow up. I'm not convinced this will hold the deer off, but it's worth a shot. I also found this stuff called Liquid Fence that you spray around and on your garden. It's supposed to keep all animals out of the area. I really hope it works.

Here's a new shot of the Rec center and parking lot. It's still so weird to not have the field back there. I really hope they get the fence up soon. It makes me a little nervous having it wide open to the parking lot.
Other than the weeds and grass, I think the wall looks pretty good. It'll be nice when they have the project finished....or at least the fence up so I don't have to see the progress (or lack of) every day.

Sun, Sand, Surf...It's almost the beach

Bailee got to play with Moses and McKinley today. The girls ran back and forth between the 'sand box', the pool, and the swing.
Moses really just wanted them to help him dig for dinosaur bones.

5/7-So is it Winter still?

I seriously thought it was time for Summer. I'd settle for Spring, but winter? In May? It is raining and sleety. I AM grateful that it's not snowing....yet. Of course, it's club night and we've had bad weather 5 of the past 7 months on this night. One of my girls has missed those 5 nights because of snow. AGGGGGH! Needless to say, I'm not really surprised that it's yucky.

The past 2 days have been fabulous! We spent both days out in the yard and in the pool. Well, Bailee spent it in the pool. That's the first thing she asked for this morning, "Back Yard, Mommy?" Usually it's "Mickey, Tigger, Pooh?"

Monday evening we went up the canyon for a picnic with some family. It was so fun, but I forgot to take our camera so there's no proof we were there. :(

Yesterday I sent McKinley and Bailee out to play in the back yard while I made dinner. I can watch them from the window, so I wasn't worried. Not a minute later they both came screaming and crying about a snake. I couldn't see it anywhere so I told them to go play in the pool, but they kept saying "No, Snake!". So I walked over the the pool to show them there was nothing wrong. HA. The snake was in the pool. I wish I'd have taken a picture. He was just hanging out enjoying the water and the warm weather. I told them they didn't have to get in the pool. We have a couple of garden snake's that hang around here. They don't bother me, and Bailee likes to look for them. But Luke on the other hand...let's just say if he never saw one again, it'd still be too soon. My dad agrees with him there.

They tore the rest of the fence out today and dug the trench for the new one. I don't think they know what they're doing. The trench is not even close to where it should be, so they'll probably be digging it again tomorrow. I'll be so glad when the fence is back up; it'll look nice and I won't have to watch the happenings of the high school crowd.

I forgot to write the onion story. :) Bailee's new word is onions. That's her answer to EVERYTHING. What do you want for breakfast? Onions. What do you want to watch? Onions. What song do you want to sing? The onion one. So last Saturday Bailee and I walked to the church for a little breakfast they were putting on. When we were leaving Bailee said "Mom, more breakfast." I asked her if she wanted more eggs, or more pancakes. She said "More onions." I wonder if she's saying something else and I'm just hearing onions. She was counting and got to nine and said "purple onions. ten. eleven. twelve. thirteen." She never says nine. What a funny girl. I have pictures of the girls playing in the pool, but I'm not sure where the camera is so I'll post later.

I guess this was just a bunch of rambling, but that's what blogging is for, right?
